Jason Vargas (arm) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session Tuesday. Vargas was cleared to do so after visiting the doctor earlier in the day. The left-hander has been sidelined since mid-June after having surgery to remove a blood clot from his left armpit. He should rejoin the Angels' rotation in early August.
