Jason Vargas allowed just two hits over seven shutout frames in Thursday's 2-0 win over the Rays. Vargas walked three but struck out seven in the outing, getting removed after seven because he had reached 114 pitches. The left-hander has now looked really good in two straight outings and could be a sneaky waiver wire add for a contending team. As it stands right now, he'll face the Rays again next week, this time at home.
