Jason Isringhausen notched his third save of the season Monday, striking out two during a scoreless ninth inning in a win over the Reds. He surrendered two baserunners but escaped unscathed. Bobby Parnell was once again used as his eight-inning bridge, an arrangement that looks like it will hold for the rest of the season. According to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal, the Mets are "reluctant" to deal Isringhausen because they value him as a mentor to their younger relievers. The resurgent 38-year-old now has 295 career saves. He has a nice 2.60 ERA and 1.15 WHIP this season.
