Jason Hammel picked up his seventh victory of the season on Friday, limiting the Nationals to two runs on five hits over 6 1/3 innings. Hammel racked up six strikeouts on the afternoon while issuing only one free pass. The veteran right-hander has been a tremendous addition to the Cubs rotation this season, compiling a 7-5 record, 2.98 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 97/21 K/BB ratio over 102 2/3 innings. He's also generating significant trade buzz and could be wearing a new uniform at some point in July. He'll look to keep things rolling when he takes on these same Nationals in Washington on Friday.
