Jason Hammel (forearm) received a cortisone injection Friday. Hammel was placed on the disabled lists last week due to a right flexor mass strain in his forearm and remains without a timetable to return. He was originally hoping to be activated when first eligible, but has still has yet to resume a throwing program. "The doctors weren't able to identify a significant issue, so I'm hopeful he's going to come back and pitch for us," GM Dan Duquette said. "We'll see how he goes. But, I know he wants to come back and pitch."
