Jason Grilli (forearm) is scheduled to begin a throwing program this weekend. There's some belief that Grilli will be ready to return to the Pirates' bullpen by the end of August, but an early-September activation date seems much more likely. Mark Melancon will continue to fill in at closer for the Pirates, who currently boast the best record in MLB.
