Manager Andy Green deemed Jankowski unavailable for Tuesday's game after the outfielder suffered a sprained right ankle in Monday's loss to Miami. However, it sounds like Jankowski could be cleared to play as soon as Wednesday, and in the meantime, the Padres could always use Alexi Amarista in left if Melvin Upton Jr. has to shift to center for whatever reason.
