James Shields was hit hard for a third straight start on Tuesday, allowing seven runs -- five earned -- over 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Cardinals. The most worrisome part of Shields' recent struggles has been his propensity for serving up dingers -- Shields gave up two on Tuesday, and he's now allowed seven in his last three starts. He allowed nine hits overall and walked four, so he was honestly lucky to escape with as little damage as he did. He'll take a 3.68 ERA and 1.25 WHIP into Saturday's start against the Yankees.
