James Shields completed his 10th game of the season on Friday, holding the Royals to one run on seven hits as he struck out 12 in a 6-1 Rays victory in Toronto. Shields is the first pitcher to complete 10 games in a season since CC Sabathia did so in 2008, and just the second in the new millenium. The 12-strikeout effort was his third of the year, and gives him 192 punchouts through 201 innings of work. He'll take a 2.96 ERA and 1.05 WHIP into his Wednesday start in Texas.
