James Darnell is day-to-day with right oblique soreness. There's no timetable for when Darnell will be cleared to return. While the injury isn't believed to be serious, he'll need to prove he's healthy if he has any chance to win a bench spot in spring training. The 25-year-old was limited to seven games at the major league level in 2012.
