Jake Peavy yielded two runs in 6 2/3 innings and struck out eight Friday in a win over Detroit. Peavy didn't impress this spring, but he's posted a 3.55 ERA and a 0.95 WHIP against two top offenses (the Rangers and Tigers) to start the regular season. With Baltimore and Oakland due up next, he makes for at least an interesting short-term play in mixed leagues.
