Jake Peavy was blasted by the Rangers Friday, allowing seven runs on six hits and two walks over six innings in a loss. The Sox spotted Peavy a three-run lead, but he was undone by the longball, with Josh Hamilton taking him deep and Mitch Moreland belting a pair of two-out homers off of him. Peavy has admitted that he's still not quite 100 percent recovered from his shoulder surgery, and it's showed in his results, as he now holds a 5.06 ERA for the season, though that has come with a 1.26 WHIP and solid 74/19 K/BB ratio over 94 1/3 innings. He'll try to bounce back next week in Seattle.
