Jake Peavy struck out eight while allowing two runs in six innings Friday in a victory over the Mariners. Peavy evened his record at 6-6. It's just the third time in 16 starts this season that he's pitched as many as five innings and allowed two runs or fewer. But facing the Mariners makes most pitchers look better.
