Jake Peavy held the Royals to two runs -- one earned -- in six innings Wednesday in the White Sox's 5-2 victory.

Peavy got no help from his defense today, but he didn't need it. He allowed just four hits, walked none and struck out six. Peavy ended the game with a bruise on his arm, the result of a crashing dive into first base while trying to handle Paul Konerko's relay toss (it was actually a foul ball that led to the play, not that Peavy knew it), but it didn't seem to bother him at all.
