Jake McGee allowed two runs in the ninth inning against the Royals but stranded the tying run to secure his sixth save of the season on Tuesday.
McGee was called on to record four outs, as he retired the last batter of the eighth before staying on to finish the ninth. Three hits, including a two-run single by Salvador Perez, threatened to saddle McGee with his second blown save, but the lefty struck out Omar Infante to end the game and preserve the win. The southpaw appears to be Joe Maddon's favorite option for outs in the ninth inning, and despite Tuesday's hiccup he should be owned in all leagues where saves are counted.
