Jacob Turner was obliterated in his second major league start, allowing seven runs on six hits in just two innings of work in Tuesday's loss to the Angels. Turner also issued two free passes. The Angels jumped all over him in the first inning, with Mark Trumbo launching a three-run homer as part of a four-run frame. It didn't get any better in the second, as Mike Trout and Albert Pujols each left the park. Turner was expected to stay in Drew Smyly's spot in the rotation, pitching against the White Sox at home on Sunday, but after this disastrous outing that may be reconsidered. While he remains the top pitching prospect in the Tigers' system, it's clear that Turner needs more seasoning at Triple-A.
