Jacob deGrom struck out a career-high 11 batters and allowed three runs over 6 1/3 innings Saturday in a win over the Phillies. The rookie right-hander held the Phillies scoreless over the first six innings, but he was clearly out of gas in the seventh before giving up a three-run homer to Ryan Howard. He was pulled one batter later and Jeurys Familia eventually cost him a chance at the victory. Overall, deGrom has been pretty impressive since coming up from the minors, posting a 2.42 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 26 innings over four starts. He'll get the Cubs next week.
