Jackson (5-7) struck out five but he tossed up a pair of bombs and yielded five runs in five innings and took the loss against the Diamondbacks on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
He truly had some incredible performances down the stretch, throwing seven shutout frames in Pittsburgh and then striking out 11 over seven scoreless innings against Boston, but that was usually cancelled out with some absolutely horrible outings like Friday's. Jackson actually was able to induce 17 swing-and-misses against Arizona, but the two homers, including the eventual game-winner in the sixth, cost him. He yielded five home runs in his final 16.1 innings this season. Jackson finishes the year with a 5.89 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 61 strikeouts versus 41 walks in 84.0 innings.
