Ivan Nova pitched extremely well in Friday's no-decision against the Tigers, allowing one run on eight hits over seven strong innings of work. Nova racked up seven strikeouts on the night while walking a pair. The only blemish on his evening was an RBI single by Miguel Cabrera in the seventh inning. He left in line to earn his sixth victory of the season, before the Tigers staged a dramatic comeback off Mariano Rivera in the ninth inning. He's been outstanding since rejoining the rotation in July, posting a 1.60 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 44/12 K/BB ratio over 45 innings spanning six starts. He'll look to continue that dominance when he takes on the Angels at home on Wednesday.
