Ivan Nova allowed two runs and struck out a season-high 11 batters Friday in a complete game victory over the Orioles. It was his first career complete game. Nova was excellent, allowing just three hits while walking just one batter. He fell just one strikeout short of matching his career-high. It looked like a two-run homer by Matt Wieters would be enough to cost him the victory, but the Yankees rallied in the bottom of the ninth to put him on the winning side. Nova now has a 3.10 ERA in three starts since returning from the minors last last month. He'll try to keep the momentum going when he faces the Royals in another home start next Wednesday.
