Indians signed INF Jose Lopez to a minor league contract. The deal includes an invitation to spring training. Lopez, 28, batted just .216/.245/.372 with eight home runs, 21 RBI and a .617 OPS over 242 plate appearances this past season for the Rockies and Marlins. He'll try to win a bench role in spring training but probably will begin the year at Triple-A.
