Jankowski is expected to win an Opening Day roster spot, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jankowski has a spot available unless the Mets need to call up an extra pitcher in the event of a setback for Max Scherzer (hamstring). As a career .239/.322/.318 hitter, Jankowski is a poor fit for everyday at-bats, but his ability to play above-average defense at all three outfield spots makes him a fine fit for a bench role, which is all the Mets should need from him.
