Hyun-Jin Ryu took a perfect game into the eighth inning Monday, only to barely hold on for the win after being charged with three runs in 7 1/3 innings.
Ryu reached on an error and came around to score in the bottom of the seventh, which might or might not have had something to do with the shaky eighth. He gave up a double, a single, a sac fly and a single to start the inning and was pulled. Brian Wilson came on and retired just one of the four hitters he faced, allowing two inherited runners to score and forcing the Dodgers to call on Kenley Jansen in a 4-3 game. Fortunately, Jansen took care of business from there, going 1 1/3 innings for the save. Ryu moved to 5-2 with a 3.10 ERA. He's won both of his starts since coming off the DL.
