Hurling a shutout through seven innings on Sunday, Josh Tomlin failed to earn the win after he and his bullpen surrendered five runs in the eighth. Tomlin gave up two runs and four hits over 7 1/3 innings. He was pulled after yielding a walk and a single to start the eighth. With Cleveland still up 3-0, the normally reliable Joe Smith proceeded to surrender four runs on three hits and a walk. Rafael P‚rez allowed one inherited runner to score on a ground out before retiring the last two batters. Tomlin has now gone four straight starts without a win.
