Hughes (shoulder) will miss the rest of the 2016 season with thoracic outlet syndrome and will need to have surgery to remove part of his rib, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Hughes was originally placed on the 60-day DL with a fractured knee that was suffered earlier this month, but will now miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury. He will undergo surgery July 6 in the Twin Cities and should be ready to return by spring training.
