Hudson will be shut down for the remainder of the 2014 season, MLB.com's Steve Gilbert reports. Hudson did not suffer any apparent injury over the final month of the season, but it appears that manager Kirk Gibson and the Diamondbacks have simply seen everything that they needed to see from the 27-year-old right-hander. He's pitched in just three games this season, allowing four earned runs over 2.2 innings. Hudson has missed the majority of the 2014 season due to his second Tommy John surgery, but hopes to be ready for the start of spring training in 2015.
