Hudson had surgery Tuesday to remove bone spurs from his right ankle and will need approximately eight weeks to recover, Alex Pavlovic of the Mecury News reports. This initial timetable should allow for Hudson to be fully healthy for the start of the regular season, but it will be something to monitor as spring training approaches. Hudson had a very typical 2014 season by his standards. His 3.57 ERA was supported by a 3.54 FIP and a 1.23 WHIP -- numbers he could replicate in 2015. However, he pitched to contact, as he is wont to do, notching just 120 strikeouts in 189.1 innings. The veteran righty turns 40 in July, and while he lacks upside, Hudson is still a relatively safe option in the later rounds of drafts.
