Hudson (9-13) took the loss Wednesday, allowing three runs on five hits with a walk and four strikeouts in 5.1 innings against the Dodgers.
Hudson was rolling until Clayton Kershaw hit a two-out RBI triple in the fifth inning. Yasiel Puig reached out and poked one over the right field wall to lead off the sixth and Hudson was yanked two batters later when Matt kemp doubled. After an exceptional start to his 2014 campaign, the veteran has struggled down the stretch. In five September starts, Hudson is 0-4 with an 8.72 ERA, leaving his status unknown as the Giants re-position their staff for a potential Division Series if Madison Bumgarner wins the one-game playoff versus Pittsburgh.
