Hudson (0-1) took the loss against the Rockies on Tuesday despite tossing a quality start. He went seven innings, giving up three runs on eight hits while striking out four and walking none.
Hudson looked more like himself Tuesday after a five-walk season debut. He kept the ball low in the strike zone and induced ground balls from a tough offense (11 groundouts). Despite the solid outing, the Giants failed to score a run while Hudson was on the mound for the second consecutive outing. Wins may be few and far between, but with a 2.03 ERA through two starts, the 39-year-old pitcher could be starting the year off strong like he did in 2014.
