Holliday (knee) is in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Padres. Holliday's left knee flared up Wednesday night, prompting his removal in the seventh inning, but it seems the decision was largely precautionary on the Cardinals' behalf. He will return to right field and the three-hole in the order Thursday to face lefty Eric Stults, against whom he's 3-for-8 with a homer in his career.
