Holliday is expected to see work at first base during the Yankees' series against the Cubs at Wrigley Field, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

Manager Joe Girardi likely will find it difficult to keep Holliday out of the lineup. The vet may be used as a pinch hitter on his way to replacing Chris Carter at first base, and he likely will at least play part of the Saturday outing against left-hander Brett Anderson.
