Holliday has been diagnosed with a partial quadriceps tear and will be reevaluated in two weeks, the St. Louis Post Dispatch's Derrick Goold reports. Teammate Matt Adams suffered a complete tear earlier this season, which required surgery, but Holliday's Grade 2 tear means he may be able to avoid surgery. He was already going to miss two weeks after being placed on the 15-day DL, but it now sounds like the recovery process will exceed the minimum stay on the DL.
