Hicks is still being considered for the everyday role in right field, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
Following an underwhelming first season in pinstripes, Hicks entered the offseason looking like the club's fourth outfielder in line for something of a platoon role to give the regulars days off against left-handed pitching. Aaron Judge, the favorite to start in right coming into the spring, has had a solid showing in Grapefruit League play but has apparently left enough room open in the competition, as he's been surprisingly quiet in the power department and has continued his overly free-swinging ways. Judge still likely has the upper hand, but the fact that the team hasn't named the Opening Day starter yet could bode well for Hicks.
