Hicks (forearm) is set to begin his rehab assignment Friday at Triple-A Rochester, Brian Murphy of The Pioneer Press reports. Hicks took another step forward Tuesday when he faced live pitching in the batting cage and will now begin a rehab assignment. However, Murphy reports that there are no guarantees that Hicks returns to the Twins immediately as his injury opened the door for prospect Byron Buxton to be promoted to the big league club.
