Hicks (elbow) was placed on the 15-day DL before Sunday's game at Texas, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Hicks had a sore right elbow before Saturday's game and was scratched. He was able to do some work on the field before Sunday's game, so he may not be out long. However, there's a real risk he's lost his shot to keep the everyday center field or even outfield role with Byron Buxton called up Sunday. Hicks could play right or left field when he returns from the DL, but it's not clear if he'll still be in Minnesota's plans as a starter.
