EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old was handed a rare 4-0 lead in his battle against Stephen Strasburg, but was unable to hold on. Hellickson was coming off five straight quality starts, but was largely done in by the long ball. He surrendered homers to Wilson Ramos, Stephen Drew and Danny Espinosa, along with a three-RBI night to Daniel Murphy. He otherwise kept the ball out of the air, inducing 12 ground balls overall. However, the right-hander also had some trouble with his control for the second straight start, as he issued a trio of free passes. Hellickson will try to rebound in his next trip to the mound, which comes against the Blue Jays next Wednesday.
