Hellickson (1-0) held the Mets to two runs on three hits and a walk over 5.2 innings to pick up the victory Sunday, striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
He's off to an impressive beginning to his 2016 campaign, posting a 1.54 ERA and tiny 0.447 WHIP through his first two starts (13.2 innings) with an 11:1 K:BB. Hellickson won't be able to keep up that kind of pace, but it wasn't all that long ago he was considered a promising prospect for the Rays, so a breakout season isn't out of the question. He'll face a good test in his next start, at home Friday against Bryce Harper and the Nationals.
