Headley went 3-for-4 in Sunday's Opening Day loss to the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
All three hits were singles, but it was still a good sign to get off to a hot start after the third baseman struggled in the spring with a .200 average and 13 strikeouts in 50 at-bats. A month away from his 33rd birthday, it's looking more and more like Headley's 31 home run, 115 RBI outburst in 2012 was a fluke rather than a breakout campaign establishing him as an elite hitter. Nonetheless, he shouldn't face much competition at the hot corner this year and has been consistently about a league-average hitter since coming to the Bronx, so he could still have some fantasy value particularly in deeper leagues.
