Headley had started the previous six games at third base, going 5-for-19 with two RBI and three runs. While first baseman Mark Teixeira and outfielder Aaron Hicks seem most at risk of losing out on regular starting gigs following the Saturday promotions of well-regarded prospects Tyler Austin and Aaron Judge, Headley too could see a reduction in at-bats over the final month and a half of the season. Austin has the ability to play both corner infield spots and could press Headley for action at third base on days when Teixeira is in the lineup. With both Teixeira and Headley out Sunday, however, Ronald Torreyes will get the nod at the hot corner.
