Headley is out of the lineup Sunday against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Much like Alex Rodriguez before him, Headley is another underperfoming veteran who has seen his at-bats trend downward with the Yankees looking to open up more playing time for some of their younger bats over the final two months. Headley will hit the bench Sunday for the sixth time in nine games, paving the way for 23-year-old Ronald Torreyes to take over as the club's primary third baseman. It doesn't look as though Torreyes will surrender those duties back to Headley anytime soon, as the youngster has gone an impressive 12-for-23 with six extra-base knocks in his past seven games.
