Wiemer and right-handed pitcher Jakob Junis were traded to the Reds in exchange for right-handed starter Frankie Montas on Monday, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wiemer will get a new opportunity with Cincinnati after struggling to break through with the Brewers. The outfielder has compiled a .224 average with three home runs, 20 RBI, 27 runs scored and six stolen bases over 192 at-bats in 53 games with Triple-A Nashville this year. Wiemer will likely report to Triple-A Louisville with the Reds' organization.
