Lamb may serve as the Diamondbacks' primary designated hitter during the 2020 season, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The adoption of a universal DH gives manager Torey Lovullo a tool to give at-bats to Lamb, the lefty hitter who may be the primary DH. Lamb had a promising spring, which presented a challenge for the manager who wanted to get his bat in the lineup. Along with having Lamb as DH, Lovullo can also rotate him at first base and third base as starters Christian Walker or Eduardo Escobar assume the DH role. Kevin Cron is also in the mix as a right-handed complement to Lamb as the DH.
