Hardy has been diagnosed with a non-displaced fractured right wrist and will be sidelined for four-to-six weeks before resuming baseball activities, Eduardo A. Encina of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hardy won't require surgery to address the injury, but he'll nonetheless be on tap for an extended absence after a CT scan confirmed that he had suffered a broken bone in the wrist after being hit by a pitch in Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Ruben Tejada is expected to step in as the Orioles' primary option at shortstop for the time being, with the injured Ryan Flaherty (shoulder) looming as another option at the position once he returns from the DL.
