Hanrahan (elbow) has been throwing in preparation for spring training, but he has not thrown at full velocity on back-to-back days yet, the Detroit News reports.The recovery from Tommy John surgery has taken more than 20 months for Hanrahan, thanks to the additional removal of bone spurs and a repair of his flexor tendon as part of the procedure. If he proves healthy this spring, or early in the season at Triple-A Toledo, Hanrahan could emerge to contribute in the late innings for the Tigers.
