Hammel won his fifth game of the season Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over eight innings, striking out seven. It's just the second time this season he's walked more than one batter in a game. Cubs manager Joe Maddon gave him chance to go for the complete game, but after Bryce Harper took his second pitch in the ninth inning over the left field wall, Hammel's day was done. He'll take his impressive 2.76 ERA and 76:9 K:BB ratio into his next start at home on Friday against the Reds.
