Hammel (7-5) allowed two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out six over five innings, but received no decision Thursday against the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
After giving up a two-run homer, Hammel settled down and held the Braves scoreless until he had to leave the game with cramps in his pitching hand. He left the game with a 2-0 deficit, and was on the hook for a potential loss until the Cubs' offense came up with a three-run eighth inning. Although he hasn't posted a win since June 4, he still has a respectable 3.46 ERA along with a 1.13 WHIP on the year. As long as his injury checks out well, as expected, he'll make his next start after the All-Star break.
