Hamilton (knee) is expected to return in mid-May and won't require a stint on the 60-day disabled list, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hamilton is already slated to start the year on the disabled list after dealing with some requisite knee soreness following offseason knee surgery. However, the Rangers are comfortable with him staying on the 40-man roster during that time frame, meaning that Hamilton won't have to be transferred to the 60-day disabled list. The Rangers are aiming to have both Hamilton and pitcher Yu Darvish back on the field sometime in May.
