Hamilton asked out of Sunday's lineup in what was believed to be a one-day mental vacation, but manager Mike Scioscia has decided to double down and give the outfielder another day off. He shouldn't be considered in danger of losing his hold on an everyday role, but he's been a massive disappointment for the second straight season in Anaheim, batting .266 with eight homers over 72 games this season.
