Hamels allowed two runs on six hits and a walk with six strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision Monday against Colorado.
EDGE Analysis
Hamels did enough to keep his club in the game, and the Rangers eventually won behind a three-run ninth inning rally. He was nasty, as he induced 20 swinging strikes in 115 pitches, but he was inefficient in part thanks to just 12 first-pitch strikes to 24 hitters. Still, Hamels is in excellent form, as he hasn't allowed more than three runs since July 8 against Minnesota, a five start stretch. In that span, he has dropped his ERA from 3.21 to 2.89.
