Hague was designated for assignment Tuesday, MLB.com reports. Hague was claimed off waivers by the Blue Jays on Aug. 18, but barely lasted two weeks on the 40-man roster. The 29-year-old has posted some useful numbers during his time in the minors, but he's well past prospect status and was unworthy of a roster spot with the Blue Jays boasting a full stable of first base/DH types.
